A visionary Kuwaiti entrepreneur, Abdullah Alshuraim, has recently launched a new website that is uniquely designed to help digital nomads find clients and gigs from all across the world while they are on-the-go. Aptly titled “Nomads”, the website aims to eliminate all geographical borders to create a conducive environment where creatives can work from anywhere in the world and that too anytime.
The Nomads was launched in July 2021. The official website of the company, Findnomads.com, is currently in Beta stage now and further expansions are on the radar for coming months.
In an exclusive interview, Mr. Alshuraim shared that they are looking forward to building an active digital nomad eco-system that will be able to support and empower the digital nomads and their dreams of roaming the world.
“Nomads is an initiative for the digital nomads by a digital nomad. The goal is to provide Digital Nomads with a functional platform where they can always get work so that they don’t have to compromise on their dreams of roaming free across the globe”, stated Mr. Alshuraim.
“I’ve always wanted to travel the world- my only issue was I could not figure out how to support myself financially. The ‘Digital Nomads Movement’ was another big inspiration for me that gave more wings to my dreams. But, I also realized that although they (Digital Nomads) set out to live their dream of roaming the world yet they do have to struggle to maintain themselves financially. Our traditional job structure doesn’t always allow remote working, thereby dampening the spirit of nomad living for many. But, I wanted to change that – I wanted to create a platform where Digital Nomads will always have opportunities to find work to support themselves on their journey, no matter wherever they are in the world. Thus, Nomads was born.”
Nomads allow Digital Nomads and creative professionals to create their job profiles on the website for freelance gigs. Users will be able to create detailed profiles, featuring their skills, previous work samples, and websites, if any. They can also feature their social handles. Employers who are looking for freelancers will be able to choose a compatible freelancer profile based on ratings, average response time, samples of previous work, starting rate, and so on.
The website caters to a wide range of creative industries, ranging from photography, graphic design, videography, copywriting and translation.
