Genea Releases Over 40 New Features in Cloud-Based Access Control Security

Genea, a leading SaaS (software-as-a-service) provider of cloud-based access control and visitor management, has released 40 new features in 2021.

“The goal is to help various industries protect against present and future security threats,” said Genea CTO Mishit Patel. “What makes Genea Access Control so special is its ability to use most existing hardware to provide a mobile experience that integrates with other third-party cloud security tools.”

Genea leverages advanced cloud computing software to deliver custom API and out-of-the-box integrations, like Cisco Meraki and Okta. These integrations allow IT teams to customize their security system and unite their workflows. Integrations include visitor and video management, identity management, tenant amenity apps, communication tools and more.

Among Genea’s 40 releases is a feature known as Global Dashboard. From one window, Global Dashboard gives oversight across an entire organization. Admins can see when a door gets forced or propped open and hardware status alerts. Additionally, Global Dashboards lets administrators add and remove users from the system without collecting a key card.   

In 2021, Genea unveiled several features ranging from group invites, pre-arrival document signing like an NDA and COVID-19-focused, Safe Workplace. With health questionnaires, contact tracing, and office capacity limits, Safe Workplace helps organizations maintain a healthy office environment.

One of the prime threats to an access control system is inefficient visitor management. Administrators can generate a QR code that acts as the visitor’s credential. Once completed, they can then send the credentials to the phone of a visitor, temp worker, intern, or delivery person. To enter the facility, all the person must do is scan. Admins can add deactivation presets by individual or group right from the Global Dashboard.
