Global Mental Health Expert Brings New Meaning To Mental Stigma In The New #1 International Best Selling Book
Jeanie Y. Chang, LMFT, CMHIMP, CCTP, reputed international speaker, AAPI mental health expert, DEI, and Corporate Wellness Consultant, becomes #1 international best-selling author in March 2021 for her memoir ‘A is for Authentic: Not for Anxieties or for Straight A’s.’

AAPI Mental health expert, DEI, and Corporate Wellness Consultant Jeanie Y. Chang, LMFT, CMHIMP, CCTP, has become the #1 international best-selling author for March 2021. The Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional garnered bestselling status in multiple categories in multiple countries for her memoir, ‘A is for Authentic: Not for Anxieties or for Straight A’s.’

“I want to make people aware of the prevalence of mental health stigma in the AAPI community and provide them the support they need to address it,” says Jeanie Chang. She is an AAPI Mental Health Expert and Corporate Wellness Consultant. “My memoir aims to provide a healing touch and instill hope as a catalyst for impactful change in normalizing mental health and mental illness in the Asian community. The book reflects my personal experiences and emotions.”

The memoir seeks to comfort readers who are desperately looking for a support system. It helps people relate to their pain and sufferings and gives them the confidence to put it behind them and control their future.

Jeanie Chang’s memoir comes at the right time when the world is dealing with issues like anti-Asian violence, Black Lives Matter, and of course, the unprecedented pandemic. The memoir is a wake-up call for the community in the backdrop of incidents such as the recent Atlanta shootings and a visible spike in anti-Asian violence and racism instances.

“A is for Authentic: Not for Anxieties or for Straight A’s” is a moving account of the Asian identity of Jeanie Chang, captured through the lens of mental health that the practicing clinician has seen and experienced from close quarters.

“A is for Authentic” provides a deep insight into the AAPI experience as Chang reveals details of her cultural upbringing as a second-generation Korean American. She uses her framework called Cultural Confidence™to express her thoughts and emotions she carried with her over the years.

Jeanie Chang has always been passionate about promoting cultural confidence and supporting mental health and wellbeing in all workplace sectors. She regularly speaks on mental health topics such as stress resilience, strategic mindfulness, anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies, burnout, and trauma. She is also known for her valuable insights into family and parenting.

“I am especially excited about my work with the AAPI community providing psycho-education on cultural, intergenerational, and racial trauma as well as offering resources for college students and young professionals on how to communicate across generations effectively,” she adds. “One of the latest resources is my YouTube Channel called “Noona’s Noonchi” where I do a deep dive into Korean dramas from a mental health perspective.”
